Four Industry leaders newly elected to IHRIM Board of Directors

Thursday, December 4, 2008
Four executives representing various areas within human resources and information management were newly elected as board members for the International Association for Human Resources Information Management (IHRIM). IHRIM is the leading professional association for knowledge, education and solutions supporting human capital management.

As of Jan. 1, 2009, the four new members - Jason Averbook, Rich Berger, Shawn Davis and Lois Melbourne - will join the other seven board members serving three-year teams to set the strategic direction for IHRIM.

Averbook is chief executive officer and co-founder of Knowledge Infusion, a strategic consulting organization that works collaboratively with clients to help them achieve true business results from technology solutions that manage and drive the work force. He is a frequent author for industry publications and delivers more 75 presentations each year.

"I am honored to be elected to the IHRIM board because it shares similar goals that I work toward every day at Knowledge Infusion - helping HR become a strategic partner in an organization," Averbook said. "This is probably the most important time in the history of HR technology as we are at an intersection of changing technologies, shifting business priorities and new collaborative frontiers. If IHRIM is to remain relevant, we must transform and align with the knowledge workers who are driving the HR technology industry today."

Berger, director of HR information systems at Citrix Systems in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., has more than 25 years of experience in the profession. A recognized expert in aligning HR strategies and the technologies that enable them, Berger has demonstrated leadership at Motorola and Affiliated Computer Services. As a leader in IHRIM, he has served on the international board of directors as well as chief financial officer of the Florida Sun chapter.

"The profession of HR information management is at a crossroads," Berger said. "With the introduction of the Certified Human Resources Information Management Professional (PHRI), IHRIM is leading the way to establish standards and give our members the ability to improve themselves and the organizations with which they work. On the board, I will help move the certification process forward and champion our profession as a discipline of HR."

As Director, HR Technology and Analytics for Intermountain Healthcare, Shawn Davis is responsible for all HR technology solutions including the selection, development, implementation, maintenance, support and strategy for 21 different systems. His expertise includes compensation, benefits, employment, recruitment, learning, analysis and reporting.

"I am honored to have the opportunity to work with the leading organization for HR technology," Davis said. "As an HR technology practitioner, I hope to provide the IHRIM board with a perspective and expertise that will help provide members with the products and services needed to succeed in these very changing and challenging times."

The final board member beginning her term in 2009 is Lois Melbourne, chief executive officer and co-founder of Aquire, a global provider of data management solutions. Melbourne's industry expertise and strategic direction have helped transform the company from a fledgling innovator in basic organizational charts into the leader in workforce planning and management solutions.

"It is an honor to be named to a board that is comprised of the best and brightest in the HR industry today," Melbourne said. "Collaboration is the key to success in any industry. I look forward to sharing my expertise, as well as learning new and innovative ideas from my fellow board members on how we can continue to support the HR industry as a whole."
